Additional Charges & Information

The prices shown are exclusive of, and subject to the current rate of Value Added Tax (V.A.T., currently 17.5%).

Parking charges will be charged to the client at cost.

Meeting & Greeting clients at airports are subject to Pickup Charges at £6.00 + VAT. No additional parking charges are made on airport pickups.

If applicable, the chauffeur's overnight board and lodging are additional.

Secondary drop-offs and pickups are charged at £12.00 each (where the additional pickup/drop-off is located in central London - please enquire for pickup and drop-off points outside central London)

Gratuities are left to the clients' discretion but may be added to the bill if requested.

Cancellation Policy

Any hirings cancelled within 24 hours of the time of hire will forfeit 100% of the cost.

Any hirings cancelled within 48 hours of the time of hire will forfeit 50% of the cost.

Any hirings cancelled within 72 hours of the time of hire will forfeit 25% of the cost.

There will be no charge for cancellations over 72 hours.

In the case that a specific vehicle and chauffeur has been requested for and a deposit has been paid to secure this request or additional items or services have been purchased on behalf of our clients then we reserve the right to retain the deposit and charge in full for the services/items lost.

Additional Information

All hirings are calculated as starting and finishing from a central London point (Marble Arch)

Bank and Public holiday hirings carry an excess charge; please ask what rate applies if you are considering hiring on any of these days.

Car parking, tolls and porterage are charged at cost. Any parking tickets gained by the request of a client asking the chauffeur to 'wait here' shall also be charged at cost.

When carrying luggage, cases, boxes etc they must be placed in the boot of the vehicle. Only a reasonable amount of hand luggage may, with the chauffeurs' approval, be carried inside the car.

We endeavour to provide the vehicles stated, however, if for some reason this is not possible we reserve the right to provide an alternative vehicle.

The chauffeur will choose what is, in his opinion, the best route to a particular destination according to traffic conditions and will always drive at a reasonable speed accordingly.

If traffic conditions including road closures, accidents, unforeseen heavy traffic and acts of God prevents the driver from arriving on time, and this in turn leads to missed appointments/forwarding travel plans etc. Metropolitan Carriage Company can not be held responsible for any loss incurred, although every effort will be made to ensure the car arrives on time.

The Metropolitan Carriage Company does not accept any responsibility for personal goods left in the vehicle.

The Metropolitan Carriage Company expressly prohibits any persons other than their own chauffeurs from driving their vehicles.

We recommend that you allow the chauffeur to open the car door, as any damage incurred to the door you open (onto a post/other vehicle/passing motorbike/pushbike etc) shall be paid for by the hirer.

Any hiring quoted for a set fee for a specific journey including hours and miles to be travelled is calculated on the information received at that time, and any excess hours or miles travelled over and above that quoted, will be charged at the standard rate.

Any damage to the vehicle inside or out caused by the client or the clients guests neglectful acts shall be paid for in full, together with loss of earnings if the vehicle has to be removed from the fleet for repair at the current daily hire rate for that vehicle.

Smoking is not allowed in our vehicles.
